If your son or daughter has missed a few Faith Formation classes over the years-we welcome you. 

If on the fence about the Catholic Faith-we welcome you. 

If so excited to receive even more of the Grace that was first given at Baptism-we welcome you.

What Confirmation will be:

• A time of discernment with a sponsor and other mentors.
• Opportunities for discussion on important questions that relate to your teen’s life.
• A chance to see how and where our Catholic Faith can be integrated into life.
• Some hours of time to connect with the Church through: An interview, info/discernment sessions, reflection activities with a sponsor, picking a Confirmation name, and writing a letter to the Bishop. 

What Confirmation will not be:

• A series of boxes to check.
• The grand finale of Religious Ed classes.
• Lectures and sharing all the do’s and don’ts of the Catholic  Church.
• Long boring hours of work and extra stress.

Here are some details: 
-Confirmation is for those students in 12th grade (including Xavier and St. Mary students).
Pre-Requisites:  Baptism, First Reconciliation, and First Communion Sacraments as well as participation in yearly formation through a parish or Catholic high school.
-Baptismal Certificates will be needed for those who did not received Baptism at Holy Spirit Parish (Holy Angels or Holy Name). Please email a copy of those certificates to Sarah at: elmers@holyspirit-parish.org
-There will be a parent/Confirmandi meeting in late September where we will discuss Confirmation and the role of the Sponsor, parent and Confirmandi! 
- In October, each Confirmation student will go through an Interview Process.
-Students will need to pick out a Confirmation Sponsor- someone who is a practicing, Confirmed. Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church. This person does not need to be local or attend any classes. They cannot be a parent.

             -Sponsor Verification Form- for sponsors to complete with their home parish (hard copy needs                     to be turned into parish office) : HERE

            -Sponsors and Students will work together to complete four discussions on the Pillars of the Catholic Church (virtual or in-person).
- For the Confirmandi: There will also be several in-person sessions along with a Saturday retreat (date TBD) from 4:30p-10:30p.
-Students also get to pick out a Confirmation Saint Name and write a letter to Bishop Ricken requesting the Sacrament of Confirmation.
 -Confirmation Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Kimberly, Parish. 2027 Date TBD.  Here is information on the Dress Code for Confirmation
